Objective:
To achieve the highest possible score.

5 dice
Pen
Score pad/paper

Scoring:
Players must attempt to get the highest score in each of the following categories:

One
Two
Three
Four
Five
Six
________________
1 pair
2 pair
3 of a kind
4 of a kind
Small straight (1-5)
Big straight (2-6)
Full house (3 of a kind + pair)
Chance (a score of dice that will not fit elsewhere)
Yatzy (5 of a kind)

There is also a bonus score of 50 points if a player achieves a total of 63 and over points above the line.

Rules:
Each player has 3 rolls of the dice on their turn, and attempts to get the best possible combination of scores for each turn.
The player should attempt to score a minimum of 63 points above the line in order to receive the 50 point bonus.

On each role, a player separates the dice he wishes to use to score, and then rolls again with the remaining dice. In total he is allowed 3 rolls per turn, and he can change his combination of choice on each roll if he wishes. After the 3rd roll, he must choose where he wants to use his combination. For example, if a player has rolled a 1, 3, 3, 4, 5  on his first role, he may choose  to seperate the two 3s and attempt to roll most 3s, or he can take the second 3 and attempt to roll a 2 in order to make a small straight. If he chooses this option, and on his second roll he rolls a 4, he can either roll that dice again to attempt to get a 2, or he could pair up the two 4s, and roll the remaining 3 dice to attempt to get more 4s on his last roll. Let’s say he chooses this last option, and rolls a 2, 4, 6. His five dice in front of him are now 2, 4, 4, 4, 6. His best option would be to enter the sum of the 4s under the category 4 giving him a total of 12 points in that section.

Points are scored as the sum of the face value of the dice, so in order to achieve 63 and over above the line, a player should aim for a minimum of three dice per number.

For points below the line, a player should attempt to get the highest possible score, so for example if a player has rolled three 1s, it would be better to use this score above the line, rather than for the 3 of a kind below the line as three 6s would score them a much higher total in that combination.

If a player does not roll a combination they can use, they can choose to place the sum of the 5 dice into the chance category.
Once the chance category has been filled, if a player can not fit their score into an open category, for example they have rolled a small straight however they already have achieved a small straight, and they can not use any of the dice elsewhere, then they must scratch one of their open categories off, and they will not have a chance to score in that section again.

Once all turns have been had (all categories must be filled or scratched), points are added to determine the winner.
