In no particular order other than as they occur to me, here’s a list of 100 or so things I want to do before I die! I don’t ever want everything on this list to be crossed off, because you should never ever stop dreaming of things to do and add to your list for life…
1. Run the Sydney city to surf
2. Bike around Holland
3. Go dog sledding
4. Go snowmobiling
5. Try clay pigeon shooting
6. Sing Karaoke (2013 – pretty much a weekly occurrence now at the Red Garter in Florence)
7. See Polar Bears in the wild
8. Go to Antarctica
9. Learn at least 5 languages to fluency
10. Learn to play guitar
11. Go rock climbing (outdoors, not indoor!)
12. Go paragliding (Wildschönau, Austria in June 2013!)
13. Snowboard in Switzerland
14. Buy an old VW Kombi and explore the east coast of Australia in it
15. Drive the Dempster Hwy and the Top of the World Hwy
16. Get my motorbike license
17. Go dirt biking
18. Try downhill mountain biking
19. Take intensive belly-dance classes in Israel
20. Visit Gallipolli
21. Buy a car and fully explore the USA
22. Try surfing (Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, November 2014)
23. Try skateboarding
24. Explore Eastern Europe
25. Ride a Vespa in Italy
26. Learn to drive manual (learnt! taught by BASE Jumpers in Switzerland, France and Italy, July 2012)
27. Visit my friend Tatiana in Russia
28. Ride a quad bike
29. Go to Africa, especially Kenya to learn more about my ancestry
30. Take a Falconry course
31. See Punch & Judy live
32. Read all of Shakespeare’s works
33. Run a half marathon (and later, a full one!)
34. Travel somewhere by cargo ship
35. Go to Kenya and see my Great Grandmother Daisy’s farm, and leave flowers on Jim’s grave
36. Shoot a rabbit or duck, some kind of game, and then prepare it entirely by myself for eating
37. See Phantom of the Opera
38. See West Side Story
39. See Chicago (in Chicago maybe?!)
40. Learn Dutch
41. Learn German
42. Learn Italian
43. Learn Spanish (Dominican Republic 2015/2016)
44. Try Westvleteren 12 (possibly the rarest beer in the world!)
45. Visit Neander Valley in Germany
46. Take a Barista course and learn to make great coffee
47. Visit Lake Bohinj in Slovenia
48. Visit Ulrichen, Switzerland
49. Go to Glencoe, Scotland and visit the Clachaigh Inn (as recommended in July 2012 by a BASE jumper in Switzerland. Done, visited in August 2012, they do ripper pies!)
50. Work in a NZ ski resort
51. Fully explore NZ, camp my way right around it
52. Visit Wanaka in NZ and go to Cinema Paradiso, an old-school cinema where you can sit in a VW Beetle or old couches. There is half time during the movie when they serve home baked cookies and home made ice cream! As recommended by Gail who I met in Ulm!
53. Build my own house
54. Buy land
55. Snowboard in Japan
56. Cycle and camp my way around Les Isles de la Madeleine
57. Visit Newfoundland
58. Explore Tasmania
59. Learn to play Harmonica well enough that it is not annoying!
60. Learn to play the Fiddle
61. Drink Guinness in Ireland
62. Earn my black belt in Karate
63. See U2 live in concert. Again.
64. Study Nutrition and in particular sports nutrition
65. Go on an Elephant-back safari in Africa
66. Meet a baby Elephant!
67. Go to Corsica
68. Go to Morocco
69. Visit Lake Baikal in Siberia (the deepest lake in the world)
70. Snowboard in the summer – done, July 2013! At Hintertux, Austria and it was epic! Better snow than in Australia!
71. Go to Iceland (November 2013, and I plan to go back again!)
72. Live in Orvieto, Italy for a while
73. See Loch Ness
74. Open my own hostel
75. Go to Prater Amusement park (Vienna) and go on a ride (September 2013- I chickened out on the giant swing and went on the baby one instead but hey, I had a blast!)
76. Break into Spreeworld again! Get better photos this time…
77. Go on a meditation week or course
78. Become a Pilates instructor
79. Work in the health industry (nutrition or fitness instructor)
80. Have an American thanksgiving complete with Pumpkin pie (Albuquerque, New Mexico, November 28 2013 AND it was also my 28th birthday the same day!)
81. Drive a sports car
82. Go to Monaco (September 2014 with Pauly, and I have the stamp to prove it!)
83. Go to San Marino
84. Go to Lichtenstein (June 2015 on my way from Switzerland to Munich with Busabout)
85. Go to Andorra (October 2016 with Luis!)
86. Attend the Feral surf camp near Bordeaux
87. See the northern lights (November 2013 in Iceland!)
88. AND see the southern lights
89. Learn to play ‘Dizzy Fingers’
90. Learn to play Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 Op. 73, ‘Emperor’- II.
91. Walk the Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela
92. Go to Cuba, and get my passport stamped… (November 2014, I hope that stamp does not cause me any trouble if I go to the states …!)
93. Dive Verzasca river, Switzerland
94. Dive the Grünersee, Austria
95. Dive the Silfra fissure, Iceland (September 2017)
96. Dive the Blue Hole, Belize
97. Get European citizenship or at least permanent residency (British Passport received November 2016!)
98. Stay in the Hüttenpalast, Berlin. – November 2015 as a birthday gift from me to me!
99. Get German residency
100. Buy an apartment in Ulm
101. Learn to Kite Surf. November 2017 in Cabarete, and I LOVE it!
